Lyman-Richey Sand & Gravel Lyman-Richey Sand & Gravel has its origin as the Lyman Sand Company, which was established in 1884. In that year, the company commenced excavating sand with a clamshell from the Kaw River in Lawrence, Kansas and delivering it by horse and wagon. In 1892, the company moved to Nebraska where it has been based ever since.
