Job Site Safety Information
  1. Wet concrete can cause skin irritation, severe chemical burns or serious eye damage. Skin exposed either by direct contact or indirectly through the absorption of unprotected clothing such as pants, shirts or shoes are likely to burn if left untreated.
  2. Wear protective equipment such as waterproof gloves, long sleeve shirts, waterproof boots, and safety glasses.
  3. Wash any skin exposed to wet concrete with soap and clean water paying close attention to areas around and under fingernails.
  4. Trucks around excavations must use the 1:1 rule. For every 1 foot of depth of excavation the truck must keep 1 foot of distance.
  5. Trucks need to be perpendicular to the excavation for safety.
  6. Provide safe access to the pouring site free of obstructions or low hanging wires.
  7. Avoid blind spots for the driver. If you cannot see the driver they most likely cannot see you. If the driver cannot see you they are instructed to stop unloading until you again make yourself visible to the driver.

  9. Be aware when signaling trucks to move forward or backward that there is nothing directly in its path that can be hit. Also be aware of the height and configuration of the truck which may also hit something. Once your have designated a signal person the driver will be watching that individual for direction and may not see obstructions. The designated individual and or company are responsible for all costs associated with damages incurred while directing a driver backward while on your job site.
  10. Be aware of swinging or moving chutes. Keep hands, fingers and head clear of pinch points. Do not walk or work directly under loaded chutes.
  11. You will need to provide an area for the truck to wash the chutes. We are not permitted to wash down in areas where runoff materials may enter public streets or water ways.
