ORDER NOTES:

AIR ENTRAINED CONCRETE

CAUTION should be exercised when hard-troweling air entrained concrete. As stated in ACI 302.1R-25, 6.2.7:
"It is recommended that an air entraining agent not be specified or used for concrete to be given a smooth, dense, hard-troweled finish since blistering or delamination may occur."
Lyman-Richey Corporation and our subsidiary companies are not responsible for blistering or delamination when air-entrained concrete is hard-troweled.

PLASTIC SHRINKAGE CRACKING

Plastic shrinkage cracks appear on the surface of fresh concrete soon after it is placed and while it is still plastic.
Plastic shrinkage cracks are caused by rapid loss of water from the surface of concrete before it is set. The critical condition exists when the rate of evaporation of surface moisture exceeds the rate at which rising bleed water can replace it.
Conditions that cause high evaporation rates from the concrete surface, and thereby increase the possibility of plastic shrinkage cracking, include:
- Wind velocity in excess of 5 mph
- Low relative humidity
- High ambient and/or concrete temperatures
Lyman-Richey Corporation and our subsidiary companies are not responsible for plastic shrinkage cracking.

CONCRETE SURFACE VOIDS

Aggregates used in concrete are tested for clay lumps, friable particles, and lightweight pieces. Standard specifications (ASTM C 33) limit the amount of these materials. The aggregates used in concrete in the metro Omaha-Council Bluffs area contain minimal amounts of soft particles, which have the potential to cause surface voids (pop-outs). Pop-outs are cosmetic defects that do not affect the structural integrity of the concrete. Alternative aggregates with less soft particles and other deleterious substances can be imported for use in the concrete and can reduce - but not eliminate - the number of pop-outs.

WASH-OUT AREA

It is the responsibility of the contractor/customer to provide an area to wash-down the chutes of the transit mixer truck prior to leaving the project site.
If instructed to deliver beyond the curbline, Lyman-Richey and our subsidiary companies are not responsible for the tracking of mud and/or debris onto the street or roadway.
